Cosmetic acupuncture is a skill that is not taught in the UK.
Cosmetic acupuncture is a procedure that is becoming increasingly sought after by many people who are afraid to have cosmetic surgery done. I think that the side effects and the possibility of disfigurement from cosmetic surgery is the reason. There are no side effects to cosmetic acupuncture. The problem is, there are not enough trained acupuncturists to go around. There are pretenders out there that try to apply traditional acupuncture to cosmetic acupuncture and it just does not work. The practice of cosmetic acupuncture is totally different to traditional acupuncture and the placing of the needles bears no comparison.
I appear to be the only acupuncturist in the UK that has been trained to teach this method of acupuncture.
Before undertaking a cosmetic acupuncture course, you should always ask, "Who taught the teacher?"
I gained my qualifications in Hong Kong in 1980. Studying the Official Chinese Cosmetic Acupuncture Course that had been instigated by Mao Tse-Tung in 1974. Unfortunately Mao died in 1976 but the project continued until 1980 when they felt they had perfected the technique. Which, of course, is when I studied the course over a period of several months, not just a few days.
Because I have been actively practicing for over 30 years and improving on original teachings, I find myself in the unique position of being the UK's leading cosmetic acupuncturist. Press reporters tell me that they have contacted all the different acupuncture societies and the internet but they can only find myself qualified to teach cosmetic acupuncture in the UK.
I have therefore, now set up a training course in cosmetic acupuncture for fully qualified acupuncturists. Because training for cosmetic acupuncture is difficult to find, I have been inundated with enquiries from around the world for information.
I have produced a DVD that covers all aspects of Cosmetic Acupuncture. It has practical sections showing exactly how to assess the patients face, how and where to place the needles for forehead, temple, eyes, cheeks, naso-labial, chin and neck as well as breasts. The practical demonstrations are shown as though you were looking over my shoulder as I work on the patient, exactly as though you were at the clinic attending a personal course. It covers everything you need to know. You can study in the privacy of your own home or surgery.

Practitioners please note:- Cosmetic acupuncture is absolutely nothing like traditional acupuncture. It has no resemblance to it. Needles are placed in a completely different way to traditional acupuncture. As you probably already know, placing needles in a conventional way shows NO improvement cosmetically. If you are going to study cosmetic acupuncture, why not study under a MASTER of the art with over 30 years experience.
The DVD is supplied with very comprehensive notes from the official Chinese Cosmetic Acupuncture course brought up to date with the benefit of my experience over many years. There are 16 A4 pages complete with diagrams and methodology, in one section of the DVD I go through the notes with you as though it was a one to one across my desk. The DVD runs just over an hour and a quarter long.
The DVD can be produced in any format allowing it to be viewed on any T/V or on a capable computer around the world. Studying at home could not be easier. Armed with the techniques learnt from the DVD, you will then be able to go on to be a fully competent and professional Cosmetic Acupuncturist.
