Traditional Chinese Acupuncture.
The Chinese have a very mythical and poetic explanation of
traditional acupuncture's empirical use. It is based on the principal of a flow of energy around the
body in channels called meridians. When a person is ill, this flow of energy (Chi) is thrown into a state of
imbalance. Inserting acupuncture needles into
acupuncture points on the meridians attempts to re-establish harmony, in an
effort to restore the patient to health.Traditional
acupuncture meridians and points can not be
demonstrated in a scientific way. To date no one has ever been able to locate a
meridian, an acupuncture point or the 'chi' that is supposed to be inside the
meridian. We were certainly not developed millions of years ago with acupuncture points waiting for someone to
discover them. The laws of traditional acupuncture are indeed
ancient. Much use is made of pulse and tongue diagnosis. These, and the laws of
the five elements i.e. Fire, Earth, Metal, Water and Wood, Yin and Yang form the basis of
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Many of these laws actually contradict
themselves, making them very difficult to use. Despite this, and not because of this,
traditional acupuncture does work, but will not work at all if the nerve supplying the area stimulated by an acupuncture needle is not intact. Although,
the meridians can not be demonstrated in any scientific
way, observation shows that they all lie over the top of the major nerves of the peripheral nervous system.
Neuro
Acupuncture.
Neuro acupuncture uses the nervous system itself.
Placing needles, accurately and painlessly, close to nerve roots and nerve
bifurcations,
causes the body to respond immediately, stimulating the autonomic nervous system into
creating homeostasis. In other words, its best natural environment.
The system is called neuronyxis. Tracing peripheral nerves into the spinal
cord often through autonomic plexuses and then on to their ultimate destination
in the brain, allows us control over what stimulation of that nerve, or
combination of nerves, will achieve. The treatment of visceral problems is a
much more accurate procedure as internal organs can be precisely targeted
through the autonomic nervous system By carefully and painlessly inserting acupuncture needles into specific combinations of these important points, points that are not taught in any acupuncture school or college, the results achieved by
Dr. Landale are outstanding. There are areas of the body where the cranial nerves can be affected, enabling us to control many conditions previously thought impossible. There are
no 'rules' in Neuro Acupuncture but a much deeper detailed knowledge of anatomy
and an even greater knowledge of neurology is required in order to use it safely. It is also essential of course, if good results are to be obtained, that the practitioner is also conversant with the use of traditional acupuncture. Although traditional acupuncture can be used for pain relief, it is usually of short duration. With Neuro acupuncture one obtains greater relief and it is sustained over longer periods of time. Far fewer treatments are required to get the patient back to normal
health.
